Nine members from the Blues Super Rugby squad recently visited Ormiston Senior College to present the school with rugby boots which were donated from around Auckland.

Gerard Cowley Tuioti, Jerome Kaino, James Parsons, Scott Scrafton, Tamati Tua, Ben Nee-Nee, Glenn Preston, Murphy Taramai and Mike Tamoaieta created quite a stir at a presentation at the school followed by a Q & A session.

Ormiston Senior College has formed its first rugby team since the school’s formation eight years.

Throughout the set-up of the team, the senior college has received a range of support from Auckland Rugby and New Zealand Rugby.

This support continued with the college part of the Best Foot Forward Programme, sponsored by Blues Rugby in partnership with BNZ bank.

The purpose of the programme is to give back to the community and help young people have a go at rugby and to experience the benefits of playing a team sport.

Ormiston Senior College is currently playing in the 2C grade as part of the Auckland Rugby Competition.
