The Rotary Club of Highbrook has raised $27,000 at the Goodman Fun Run Walk on March 24.

The annual event was supported by local company sponsors, an army of 50-plus volunteers and some 500 participants.

“We thank our main sponsors Goodman, EPS Foam (NZ) Ltd, Wynyard Wood and Barnes Plastics Limited and many other generous sponsors who offered goods or gifts in kind who all made this event possible,” Highbrook Rotary Club treasurer Ravinder Manilal said.

From the proceeds raised, Highbrook Rotary will be donating to local charities including Middlemore Foundation, Totara Hospice, Life Education Trust, Mobility Dogs and other smaller charities.

For Middlemore Foundation, they are funding the purchase of five much-needed recliner chairs for Middlemore Hospital’s Neonatal unit.

“The comfortable chairs enable loved ones to stay longer periods of time with their sick babies when space is so limited,” Manilal said.

The next annual Highbrook Rotary Fun Run is on March 2, 2022.
