Triathlete Ryan Sissons has claimed bronze at the ITU World Series event in Hamburg, Germany.

The former Macleans College student finished with a time of 54:23 after slightly lagging in the swim but made up time in the bike and run helped along by some quick transitions.

Sissons snagged the podium finish by three seconds ahead of France’s Vincent Luis, but was narrowly beaten to silver by Australian Jacob Birtwhistle who came in at 54:20.

First place was claimed by Spain’s Mario Mola who finished comfortably in 54:08.
